Challenges of Healthcare in Emerging Economies

Stefan participated in a multinational panel to support the 75th anniversary of the United Nations concentrating on their Sustainment Development Goal (SDG) Number 3 to “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. The panel was organized by the American University of Antigua.

Topic was the overall and current “Challenges of Healthcare in Emerging Economies”.

Attached for those to be able to watch the discussion during the live Facebook event.

TopicHealthcare in Emerging Economies: One of the 17 Goals adopted by all UN Member States in 2015, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is Good Health & Well Being(Goal 3). Some of the challenges faced by Emerging economies include – availability of adequate healthcare professionals; poor healthcare infrastructure (hospital beds, ICU beds, access across the country); quality and affordability of healthcare. This dialog is to discuss some of these issues and generate ideas for effective healthcare in these economies. This dialog is happening during Covid-19, the worst pandemic in 100 years and hence we will discuss the impact of the pandemic on these issues.
